SAM’s Topic: “Workforce Gaps Post-RBM: It’s Time to ‘Dig’ In!”
The FDA released a draft Question and Answer Guidance in March 2019 supporting and clarifying the finalized guidance on risk-based monitoring. One major area of focus is on having the right personnel in the right work environment. Sponsors/CROs need to train and support their personnel, but this is not always easy, and a lack of training and support is frequently a root cause of problematic study start-up and issues management.
Takeaways from SAM’s Topic:
Understand what skills are needed to support successful teams
Learn to identify common gaps
Discuss how to dig for solutions
